We can never expect a country to generate correct and workable ideas to change the world. We need a platform, world needs a platform to exchange ideas and knowledge that have gained practicality in some part of the planet which can be implemented in others. Thus, United Nation’s International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG) has realized this requirement of mankind and recently launched a website named “South-South Learning on Social Protection”. This gateway is an initiative to foster south-south collaboration, aiming to expand the knowledge base and capacities of developing countries to design and implement nationally-owned poverty reduction strategies, bridging the gap between theory, policy and practice with accessible and diverse social protection information in print and online. It also provides a space where practitioners can share ideas, experiences and resources.

This new website has been set up as a “virtual bookcase” where there is a searchable database of social protection materials from across the world. The collection includes tools, case studies, policy papers and research. Another innovation of this gateway is that is that it fosters the interactive engagement of users, offering the possibility to participate by posting news, comments and suggestions, submission of recommendations for library inclusions, proposing new features and also participating in the Forum. The South-South Learning on Social Protection features more than 150 papers in the area and maps public policies of 94 nations - from Brazil to Madagascar, from India to Zimbabwe from South Africa to East Timor, from Mexico to the Cook Islands, from China to Trinidad and Tobago.

The idea of the website has its roots on the Africa-Brazil Cooperation Programme on Social Protection, which started in 2008 to support the development and implementation of effective social protection policies and foster South–South learning with partner African countries. Now, it’s our time to contribute i.e. youths, national policy makers, NGO’s and other organization who believe in serving and healing this world. This can provide a platform for youths to interact and design a policy in discussions with specialist by using roster feature of website and forum. As we, the people, are very energetic and have excessive interest to contribute to the society that can be contributed in the right directions. We can get ideas, policies and many publications that can lead us in contributing to the society around us which can result in a change, a change that world expect, a change which we all want to see in our lifetime. A world without poverty, without employment, without unavailability of basic necessities, that’s the kind of world I and we aim for.

Let’s hope we can change the world with clearer ideas to implement and seek guidance from people world believes on!!

Visit us at http://south-south.ipc-undp.org/

The Weekly buzz Presentation.....

I am very proud to present the Weekly buzz presentation for all people of India and Pakistan. In a country like India We can have blast for just 75000 Rs. That what the master mind behind Gujrat blast says. How unfortunate is it that a banned organisation like SIMI is defended by the goverment of our country i.e.UPA goveremnt just because they dont want to lose a single muslim vote. But which muslim in India wants blasts ? Its really our goverment who is doing all this which is giving confidence to Terriost that they will not be hanged even. And What our Lalu prasad yadav has to say " Ok even If they find SIMI members in blast dont blame other who are innocent".Great Lalu ji who supported SIMI but now there faces are down. Its better that Gujrat is BJP and thus a fair trial can be expected. But how unfortunate we are that our country can be targeted easily with very less amount of money (Just 75,000Rs) and our central goverment are least interested because the organisation who is doing it is muslim organisation. And the other big dissappointment is of RAW (India's Research and Analysis Wing) always after every attack says " We warned about this attack so state police" But the fact is there is warning from RAW to State Police every week or in 2 weeks , so it means State Police should be on high alert whole year. So it so unspecific information given by RAW that no body can't do anything about it.
Lets change our System, Lets first change our govement, Weekly buzz votes go to BJP.
Avi Sharma

BORDERS & LINES...

“Borders and lines” from the time they have been drawn, always created unsatisfied souls. Unsatisfied because there is innate desire of every human to expand, their horizons and most importantly the limits others have posed on them.

The issues that are to be thoughtfully reasoned at this point of time may be the basic intentions of religion, regionalism and patriotism, the three basic seeds on which the world in the form today could trace its roots. This reasoning is important as it will decide the fate of our basic moral values and intensions, as we see them. To see its importance, we can consider the case of a suicide bomber whose basic moral values are very different from the normal person working to earn his bread and who can never think about killing a person as his moral principles would not allow him to.

When we talk about Jammu & Kashmir as a focal point all these three come into play along with the basic desires of every human being. It is a region that is divided between India, Pakistan and China, all wanting a chunk extra. It has been more than sixty years that this fight has been going on but no solutions. It’s difficult to find one when there is less importance given to the people living there and more to the history and unending desires of the few.

The region of Jammu and Kashmir can be further divided into Jammu, Kashmir (the valley), Ladakh, Askai chin and the areas of Balistan & Gilgit. Each one of them has a different history and different reasons of being as a region. Ladakh finds its roots in the Tibetan culture with an added touch of the Indian culture. The area of Ladakh desires its own autonomous government while staying with India.

Same is the case with Jammu is part of Indian J&K has been culturally related to India. Their choice of remaining with India in case of a plebiscite is almost certain. So considering the two areas of Ladakh and Jammu the Indian association and support is certain.

The areas of Balistan & Gilgit have a different history all together. They have been linked to Tibetan culture from the time it had spread in Ladakh. The attacks of Mongols at that time have resulted in many changes in their culture and religious acceptance. After the 1947 partition these areas have come under Pakistan and have been under them for more than 50 years. In spite of the majority Muslim population these areas still wants to be connected with Ladakh and their culture which still has much resemblance to Tibetan culture than with others. There have been many uprising going on inside these areas to join with Ladakh.

Askai Chin is a china occupied region which has the same roots as Ladakh itself. China’s road to Tibet passes through Askai chin which is a major route for Chinese to go to Tibet. Chinese have taken the area of Askai Chin from India in the 1962 war. There is very little population living in this area because of the extreme climatic conditions.

The most controversial part of the whole is Kashmir valley, which is presently under India and Pakistan. Kashmir as a whole has a higher Muslim population and favors total freedom rather than staying with either India or Pakistan. The area has a different culture called as Kashmiriat and the locals have been crying out for independent nation from the time India and Pakistan have got freedom from British rule.

Now to analyze the situation the three basic principles that we have seen come into the picture along with the history and desires of the locals and the government of the region.

Siachen, which has been touted as the most strategic part of Ladakh has turned out to be the most wasteful battlefield on earth which has no practical importance for either India or Pakistan. The need to keep the Saltoro heights in our capture is the logic behind this war according to our military leaders and on the other side, political leaders on both sides have colored the issue with the patriotism but according to experts this reason has no strategic significance for both the countries (the nearest national highway to the hills is over a hundred kilometers away). As a result, it is difficult to understand the need to protect such a sparsely populated area with hundreds of lives and billions of hard earned tax-money.

Coming to Kashmir, at the best it can be said that both the countries should consider bringing in UN as a third party to solve the issue permanently i.e. to either create an autonomous state or let it be a part of any of the two countries.

In terms of religion, these should be divided into two parts, Kashmir, Balistan and Gilgit in favor of Pakistan and Ladakh region & Jammu in India. Almost the same status that we have as on now, except for the region of Kashmir valley. The problem with considering this point of view is the basic culture of the society can never be singled upon the religion hence the problem with this solution.

The other consideration of regionalism issue is centered on three different cultures: the Ladakhi-Tibetan culture in Balistan, Gilgit, Ladakh and Askai chin; the Kashmiriat culture in the Kashmir valley and the Jammu culture in Jammu. So, if autonomous status has to given to any part of J & K then it should be given keeping in mind the individuality of three regions. The feeling of patriotism is strangely colored in the colors of these individual regions. Hence, whatever comes out of plebiscite in specific regions should result in a stable solution.

Till the plebiscite is being done, J & K region remains a puppet to the whims and inflated egos of political leaders.

In any case…
“Borders and lines” have always divided...
-Varun Sharma & Adesh Oberoi
Authors of Dead Beautiful Truth

Indian Indepedence Day

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XELaIgMsqlo/SKTvkBPF4CI/AAAAAAAAAEo/ZXOBLRGpef4/s320/gj.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234572068997423138" />

Long years ago, we made a tryst with destiny and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge... Although Pakistan was founded as a democracy after the partition of the Indian sub-continent, the military has remained one of the country's most powerful institutions and has on occasion overthrown democratically elected governments on the basis of mismanagement and corruption. Successive governments have made sure that the military was consulted before they took key decisions, especially when those decisions related to the Kashmir Conflict. Political leaders know that the military has stepped into the political arena before at times of crisis, and could do so again.

The Military was created in 1947 by division of the British Indian Army and was given units who had a long and cherished history during the British Raj such as the Khyber Rifles, and had seen intensive service in World War I and World War II. Since independence, the military has fought three major wars with India and several minor border skirmishes with Afghanistan. It has also fought a limited conflict at Kargil with India after acquiring nuclear capabilities. After 9/11, the military is engaged in a protracted low intensity conflict along Pakistan's western border with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants, as well as those who support or provide shelter to them.

In addition, Pakistani troops have also participated in various foreign conflicts usually acting as United Nations peacekeepers. At present, Pakistan has the largest number of its personnel acting under the United Nations with the number standing at 10,173 as of 31 March 2007.

Independence Day Special

We will be presenting articles on 14th August on eve of PAKISTAN INDEPENDENCE DAY which will be based on topic PAKISTAN:Before And After Independence. Its the first time we have seen that we need to think over cricket and have to invest in other games. Today Abhinav Bindra have proved that cricket's world cup victory 1983 and 2008 is on one side and his gold medal is on one side.

Today the legend of cricket kapil dev said that " This victory is far greater that World cup victory of 1983 ". Why did he say that??Is He nuts??........No, he knows that cricket has already got the intial threshold to go in India as long it wants to exist but other sports needs help, We have talent in villages but we need to discover it.

Why BCCI is giving 25 lakh to Abhinav and why not the federation he went for , Indian shooting federation, Its clear Indian boards except of BCCI don't have money which can be awared and the award of few thousand will look small in front of crore given by Goverments.

My motive is one , please think over the issue that does Cricket need any more popularity. But yes games like Badminton, shooting , football need this in India. And at last telling you all what Abhinav said after winning " There is a lot of negatism in India for sports other than Cricket".

Avi Sharma

Our Plan

Every week on every tuesday we will raise a article which is on a political, Sports, entertainment from India and abroad.
